About EntalWell
EntalWell is a UK-based free mental health listening service, powered entirely by trained volunteer listeners. Our role is to provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where people can talk openly and feel heard.
What we are — and what we are not
EntalWell offers active listening only. We provide:
- A safe space to be heard
- Emotional support through conversation
- Empathy and reassurance
- Signposting to professional or emergency services where appropriate
We do not:
- Diagnose mental or physical health conditions
- Provide counselling, psychotherapy, or medical advice
- Recommend or comment on medication or treatment
- Tell you what to do or make decisions for you
- Replace healthcare, therapy, or emergency services
Our listeners are not therapists, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists, or medical practitioners, and will not present themselves as such.

To provide free, immediate, non-judgemental listening support to anyone in the UK, whenever they need it — and to train and care for a nationwide community of compassionate volunteer listeners.

International visitors (including the US)
EntalWell is primarily UK-based, but our free live chat is open to anyone who reaches us in English. Because we are a UK service, our volunteers are trained on UK safeguarding frameworks and cannot coordinate emergency services outside the UK. What we can do is listen — and help you find the right local resources.
